At Newport Fitness, CrossFit is more than just a way to get fit—it’s a way to build a community of support by strengthening old friendships while making new ones, too. CrossFit members all over the country work to strengthen all aspects of their lives, not just physically but mentally and socially as well. That’s why in 2017, Newport Fitness designed and introduced additional programming to incorporate the entire community. We focused on building strength and confidence one individual at a time. In addition to group exercise and Em’s Fitcamp, we also offer community-building opportunities for our members to connect outside the gym as well.
Healthy and consistent socializing can impact our fitness goals more than we might realize. In fact, in addition to positively impacting our mental health, socializing can even help strengthen our immune systems and help us fight off the flu, colds, and other illnesses. Newport Fitness strives to create a well-connected family that knows how to work hard and play hard, while supporting its members both inside and outside the gym. Here’s what you have to look forward to at Newport Fitness!
Members are the foundation of Newport Fitness. We wake up every day knowing that you—our members—are the very reason we exist. You mean everything to us—and we think you’re absolutely worth celebrating! Each year, we host a Member Appreciation Party to celebrate all members, your families, and all of your accomplishments both at the gym and in your personal life that you share with us. We encourage our members to get to know each other. People who can support each other outside of the gym are more likely to help you achieve both your personal and physical goals. It’s not hard to see why such strong friendships form at Newport Fitness: when you’re working on improving yourself and your body, it means you have to acknowledge weaknesses along the way. And there’s nothing more connecting than sharing the feeling of vulnerability, and then forging trust to overcome it.
Whether we’re canoeing with more than 50 members and enjoying the great outdoors, or cheering on the Cincinnati Reds, Newport Fitness knows how to have a good time. Next on the list is the Keeneland bus trip. There will be everything we love about a social event: food, drinks, horse racing, and a whole lot of fun! The trip is tomorrow, October 20th at 10 A.M. We still have eight spots available!
We can’t forget about the holidays, either. Our favorite Halloween WOD is coming up quickly. So before you get ready for all the candy and spooky treats, get your workout in during our special and spooky Halloween WOD! These unique workouts are a great way to stay on track with your fitness goals while celebrating the holidays with your CrossFit community. Of course we celebrate the holiday season with our families, but don’t forget to join the celebrations at Newport Fitness. Details about our annual Christmas party will be coming soon, so stay tuned and get excited!
